Dear Anthony,
I find that pharmaceutical care is slowly becoming the underlying
philosophy of pharmacy in most western countries. It sure is in
(parts of) the USA/Canada and (parts of) Europe and (parts of)
Australia/New Zealand. Not to forget South Africa. In most Asian
and African countries not much is happening as far as I can see.
In Europe you should mainly think of the UK, all Skandinavian
countries, The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Switserland,
France, Spain and Portugal. However, in some countries the
concept has penetrated deeper into pharmacy practice than in
others. If you want to know more about the European developments
you can contact Dr. Maria Cordina at the Pharmacy department of
the University of Malta, Msida. She certainly knows about most
other Europen countries where the concept is developping.
