Re: Using Screen Shots as Test Evidence

Hi Mark,

Are a few things going in the same time.

1. Do you have a document like VMP, VPP or it is stated in the QAP
that you have to attach the screens to the protocol? If not you do
not have to attach them. The person who executes the protocol signs
the protocol and documents the test results P/F. Doing that I would
say that he is legally liable for the accuracy of his statements.

2. Screen shots can be used to document the screen's design, to prove
navigation between the menus or to show a status change like motors
on/off, alarms blue/red, etc. You have to use the screen shots to
demonstrate what is required to be demonstrated.

3. A common practice, in my opinion totally wrong approach, is that
the screens information is collected after equipment delivery. The
information is included in the protocol and during the execution the
tester compares the same screens. For a correct verification (screens
design, navigation or functionality) a BOD, URS or Eng specs should
exists. The screens equipment should be compared to the specs.

I hope that make sense,

Simon
